Gardner Security Ready To Help

Gardner Security has been providing all forms of property security, specialising in access control, burglar alarms, CCTV and fire alarms in Sussex and Hampshire, since 1981; however, in 2010 we offically became part of Christie Intruder Alarms Ltd (CIA) who cover the majority of the South of England.

We had been owned by CIA for more than 5 years then so we saw this as a natural progression to further improve the great service Gardner customers were used to.

CIA adhere to the latest European codes of practice and were the first ever company to hold the NSI Gold Medal for recognition of outstanding performance in security management and all 4 modules of the BAFE SP203 Standard for Fire Alarm Systems.

NB: NSI is an acronym of the National Security Inspectorate. Formerly known as NACOSS, the NSI is an independent, not-for-profit approvals body providing inspection services for the security and fire industries.  BAFE is an acronym of the British Approval of Fire Equipment accreditation body...read more.

Gardner Security are now CIA!

At the beginning of April 2010 Gardner Security became part of Christie Intruder Alarms Ltd.  We had been owned by Christie Intruder Alarms for more than 5 years then so we saw that as a natural progression.

Let's reassure you with some facts.

Who are Christie Intruder Alarms?

Christie Intruder Alarms was established in the late 1960s by Barrie and Janet Christie.  Under their ownership and management, Christie Intruder Alarms has become the most recognized and well respected security brand.  Christie Intruder Alarms also owns Capital Security Systems and State Digital Security as well as Gardner Security.

Why the change?

On retiring Barrie and Janet Christie wanted to secure the future for customers and staff alike, and have done this by merging all the subsidiaries under the Christie Intruder Alarms brand.

Who owns Christie Intruder Alarms now?

The company is still owned by the Christie family, and members of the family continue to work for Christie Intruder Alarms.  The staff have been empowered by a new share bonus scheme which guarantees that Christie Intruder Alarms will remain the strongest independent brand in the security industry.

What does the change mean for me?

The only change you should notice is the change in name on any correspondence you will receive from July 2010 onwards.

I'm an existing Gardner Security customer. Do I need to do anything?

No; the Gardner Security team will continue to look after you.  We will be backed up by 40 years of Christie Intruder Alarms' expertise and more than 300 staff and engineers.

We are looking forward to securing your future but if you have any concerns, we are here to help.
